Gravesend Station Refurbishment
Gravesend railway station will be transformed to provide far more capacity. The new station will allow 12 car trains making it easier to collect 3500 passengers per journey projected to be using the high-speed services in the future.
Network Rail will spend £19 million to carry out development. The transformation will increase the station from having just two platforms to 3 platforms and sustain with Ebbsfleet which has 6 platforms and between 2011-2012 increased users by a staggering 27%. The development to Gravesend station will create a more accessible station, with a modern brighter, cleaner look on completion that provides step-free-access to all platforms to encourage more rail users.
