The station Gare d’Aime-la-Plagne serves both Aime and the nearby ski resort, La Plagne with high speed TGV and Eurostar services. There is free public transport between 8am and 12 midnight connecting Aime La Plagne to the other high altitude resorts (Belle Plagne, Plagne Villages/Soleil, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Centre, Plagne 1800). The La Plagne area is also connected to Bourg-Saint-Maurice by the Vanoise Express. Skitrains are available on Fridays and Saturdays only.
Eurostar
trains between St Pancras International, Ashford International and Aime-La-Plagne have average journey times of 7 hours 31 minutes, but the direct route is only available between Decmember and April because of the ski season. Tickets outside this period are for indirect travel through Paris. The best time for tourists is December at Christmas.
Aime is a village in the Savoie area in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-east France. It faces the famous Mont Blanc and is one of the eleven La Plagne ski resorts. Aime-La-Plagne was built in 1968, but opened in 1969. It sits at an altitude of 2100m at the bottom of the pistes, and will be open from 12th December 2009 to 24th April 2010 this season.
