Eurostar have set a target of 2012 to further reduce CO2 emissions by 25%. Air
operators have started a reduction in services, to Europe as Eurostar generates
10 times less CO2 than flying the same journey. Further
development in 2009, will see Ebbsfleet to London services and fastrack buses to
Gravesend and Dartford town centre, Bluewater.
2012 Olympics will attract visitors from Paris, Brussels and all over Europe, its estimated over 30% will be travelling on the high-speed rail via Ebbsfleet International train station. Eurostar customers receive free travel on National Rail train services connecting St Pancras and Stratford International.
Investigations are underway, which could bring London Crossrail project to Europe. Trains travelling on the high-speed rail via Ebbsfleet International train station may also run as far as Heathrow airport. St Pancras International already has trains to Gatwick and Heathrow airports, however direct services will be much faster and easier for commuters.

A 50-metre sculpture will represent Ebbsfleet and Ebbsfleet Valley to landmark the huge regeneration scheme in north Kent. It is estimated around 40 million people a year will travel past on trains and in cars, the sculpture been has commissioned £2m to cover the development cost. The final and winning sculpture a "Giant Horse" called Ebbsfleet Horse by Mark Wallinger will form the full size landmark, the announcement was made on Tuesday 10th February 2009.
